Fig & Ricotta Protein Pizza
Fall flavors, meet a delicious and nutritious take on pizza! I instantly became obsessed with this recipe the moment I made it. You can skip the ground turkey or substitute it with turkey pepperoni if you’d like!
Ingredients:
1 whole wheat pita pocket
2 ounces part-skim ricotta cheese
3 ounces of 99% lean ground turkey (season with ½ tbs of garlic powder, 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of pepper, ½ tbs of oregano)
1 ounce of goat cheese
1-2 ounces of figs
Basil leaves
Optional: hot honey and/or red pepper flakes
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. While that’s pre-heating, heat a pan over medium-low heat. Season your ground turkey with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
Next, spread your ricotta over your pita pocket. You can slice it or leave it whole, up to you! Then add your turkey, cover that with goat cheese, then slice your figs and place them on the pizza. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the pita is crispy. Top with basil leaves and enjoy!
